Paul McCann: July Ends - The Stories of August to Come... - pmccann
Lol to the new Comcast heavy usage fees. Actually we were notified several weeks ago, before the OS saga started. However, maybe Snider knew what was coming with Weber and also sensed the likely outcome, so he decided to place the Nashville market in his cross-hairs just in case!
It will take a lot of usage to cross the new bandwidth threshold. However, if that is the proverbial camel sticking his nose in the tent, then I don't know...all bets are off!

"Apparently, Comcast is beginning a new program to charge heavy data use customers a fee for their heavy use. Nashville is the first market chosen for this. Comcast is the parent company of the Philadelphia Flyers. Coincidence? I think not…"
Ohhh Paul you are going to catch a ton of crap from trolls about this.....hahaha |

I picked up no snark on revenue sharing teams from the G&M article. Great article. I had no idea NHL had only 6-7% revenue sharing. No wonder we are in such a pickle as a league. Help us Obi Fehr, your our only hope. |

If the Preds don't pick up Colaiacovo (I hate even typing his name) then they shouldn't trade for someone who's no better than anyone we have on our current roster. We need a solid defender who can pick up some big minutes. Not another Poile rehab.
I no longer care about Bobby Ryan. He'll most likely end up in the East anyway. Besides, Hornqvist has quietly scored 30, 23, and 27 goals the last three seasons respectively, and I don't think he's done improving. Not even close.
The Preds really could use a sniper. The Phoenix series showed us that, but I think our first concern needs to be on defense as our current crop is just too green. I'd like to see Josi get one more solid year under his belt before I put him with Weber.
Let's go get Viz from NYI. He obviously doesn't want to be there, and it would be a good one-year solution. |

Maybe the Flyers should of offered up Free Cable, Brayden and Luke Schenn along with 4 first rounders....who knew thats all that might of stood between the Flyers and Weber......oh that and common sense!!! |

Honestly Kaberle didn't play that bad for Montreal last year. he had 22 point in 43 games. The problem is that now that Markov is back there is really no place for Kaberle in the top 2 pairings, and he's getting paid to much to be a bottom pairing guy |

The problem with the NHL is that it doesn't have core revenue like the other leagues have (ie a major value tv contract in the US). The revenue sharing comes from the profitable teams and their gates/merchandise. It is not necessarily in the best interest of those profitable teams to support the other teams - depends on who you support and what your vision is for the league.
The league is always going to have this internal tension until it either collapses or decides that it's fate is truly tied to having all franchises sharing revenue regardless of source. |

Nashville Needs a player who is going to help on the PowerPlay, I'm shocked that no one has even mentioned that. We went from 1st in pp in the regular season to last in that Phoenix series. The LACK OF CONSISTENT PP is this teams down fall. However, add a good sniper and that would possibly change.....

Perfect!!! Just switched from U-Verse to Comcast. Signed a 1 year U-Verse contract last year, only had the NHL Network for 3 weeks before it got yanked and all of the other NHL FX sports games were blacked out. No options for Center Ice as well, thank god all of the pred roadies were on the tube!!! I have been counting the days till I could switch back! I won't complain as much, got a good rate and happy to have NHLN back right after the Weber OS match. |

I think DP is waiting for all of the RFA's to be signed. Blum might be involved in a package deal with a prospect that is the only way CarCola will be a Pred. Elkholm will be playing regularly after X-mas if he doesn't make the opening day roster.
I didn't like Viz's play last year, not sure if he was 100% all year. CarCola would play better under BT's system after a year under Hitch. |

There are several here who don't like Comcast (you know who you are! ) but I like their service just fine. Kind of pricey but they are responsive and are able to leap-frog their competition whenever desired.
Comcast and their NBC division support the NHL and hockey wholeheartedly, therefore I will support them. (Great job this year for the SC Playoffs!) Plus, for me Comcast is worth any perceived negatives just for their internet service alone. |

He does I think. What I saw him saying was to get our RFA signed first (or traded). Blum is the only one of note unsigned. (Others are Stortini, Ryan and Dupont.)
edit: Of course he might also mean other teams' RFA defencemen - Subban, Franson, Benn, etc. |
